Primate Elijah Ayodele has reaffirmed his long-standing position on the issues surrounding Nnamdi Kanu, stating that the IPOB leader’s fate will ultimately be determined through political negotiation rather than legal penalties. He emphasized that fears of a life sentence should not trouble Kanu’s supporters.
Primate Ayodele, speaking in a recent Facebook video, noted that his earlier prophecies regarding Kanu had not changed. According to him, every major development in the case continues to point toward behind-the-scenes discussions rather than judicial punishment. He stressed that the term “life imprisonment” is merely a legal expression and does not reflect what he believes will happen in reality.
The cleric explained that while court rulings may appear harsh, the final decision concerning Kanu’s status will come from political deliberations. He urged those advocating for Kanu’s release to remain engaged, adding that persistent efforts and constructive dialogue would be necessary in the months ahead.
Ayodele further reassured the public that Kanu would not die in detention, insisting that the circumstances surrounding him would eventually shift. He maintained that the case would reopen this year and that negotiation would be central to whatever outcome emerges.
