Nollywood Star Osas Ighodaro Thrilled as Her Films Earn AMVCA Nominations

Nollywood actress and producer Osas Ighodaro has expressed immense joy after learning that two of the films she executive-produced have earned nominations at the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

On Wednesday, Osas took to her Instagram page to share snapshots of the nomination announcements for 3 Cold Dishes and Colours of Fire

She wrote, “Woop Woop!! I am a very proud Executive Producer doing my happy dance right now! We continue to give God all the Glory!”

The actress-turned-producer expressed her appreciation for the recognition, acknowledging the collective effort behind the films. 

“Congratulations to our films 3 Cold Dishes and Colours of Fire on all the AMVCA nominations! All the hard work, the long hours, and amazing talent that came out on the screens from the creators, cast, and crew was certainly worth it, captivating and appreciated! Thank you for the acknowledgement! We celebrate the impact, growth, and will continue to aim for excellence! Thanks be to God!”

The 12th edition of the awards, scheduled for May 9 in Lagos, has positioned both films in several critical categories. 

3 Cold Dishes is up for best movie, best screenplay, best music score, and best director, while Colours of Fire has secured nominations for best lead actor, best supporting actor, best costume design, and best art direction.

3 Cold Dishes, a Pan‑African thriller, is directed by Asurf Oluseyi and written by Tomi Adesina. The story revolves around three women who were trafficked as teenagers, reuniting years later to confront the powerful men responsible for their suffering. 

The film’s ensemble cast includes Wale Ojo, Osas Ighodaro herself, Femi Jacobs, alongside international actors, bringing a broad and compelling perspective to the narrative.

Meanwhile, Colours of Fire, directed and written by Niyi Akinmolayan, explores themes of love, tradition, and rivalry between clans. 

Released in December 2025, the drama captivated audiences during the holiday season, thanks to its engaging storyline and strong performances. The cast includes Uzor Arukwe, Osas Ighodaro, Mercy Aigbe, Femi Branch, and Gabriel Afolayan.

Osas Ighodaro’s celebration reflects not only personal achievement but also the broader growth of Nollywood as a global entertainment force. 

By executive-producing films that combine powerful storytelling, strong performances, and cultural relevance, she continues to contribute to raising the industry’s standards.
