North took special exception to killing of 16 Muslims, Okpebholo had to kneel to appease them–Majeed Dahiru

According to our report, Dr. Majeed Dahiru has criticized what he describes as selective responses by Muslim leadership to violence in Nigeria. Speaking on Nigeria Info FM, he pointed to incidents where attacks on Muslims drew swift condemnation, while violence against Christians often went largely ignored.

Dahiru referenced the recent killing of sixteen northern Muslim hunters in Edo State, noting that Governor Okpebholo “had to kneel to appease families and Northern stakeholders,” a response he said was treated as exceptional. He contrasted this with attacks on Christians, including the killing of Fatima and her children in Anambra by IPOB elements, which received less national attention.

Highlighting other historical cases, Dahiru argued that Christian communities facing jihadist attacks, bandits, and herders deserve equal concern. He called on the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs to address security threats emanating from their own demographic, emphasizing that Nigeria’s insecurity requires consistent attention across all regions and religions.
