Obi Has a Proven Track Record. One of the Things I Tell People Is That He Has Conquered Greed– Ameh

According to NewsVista, Peter Ameh, the former national chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has thrown his full support behind former Anambra governor Peter Obi, describing him as a rare breed in Nigerian politics—one who has “conquered greed.”

Speaking in an interview with News Central TV on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Ameh praised Obi’s commitment to serve only one term if elected president. He said this self-imposed limit reflects Obi’s focus on national progress rather than personal gain and could help unite fragmented opposition forces around a common cause.

“What makes Peter Obi stand out is not just his track record—it’s that he’s not obsessed with wealth. He’s not in politics to enrich himself,” Ameh said.

Ameh also stressed the importance of respecting Nigeria’s zoning tradition, which promotes regional balance by rotating power between the North and South. He warned that ignoring this, as seen in the 2023 Muslim-Muslim ticket by the APC, risks deepening national divisions.

“Most of our politicians are driven by the primitive urge to acquire wealth. That’s why public funds are so often mismanaged,” he added. “But Obi has proven that leadership can be about service, not selfishness.”

With the 2027 election landscape starting to take shape, Ameh’s endorsement adds fuel to growing calls for a leadership shift built on integrity, unity, and accountability.
