Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued a strong warning to the Nigerian government over the continuous loss of soldiers fighting insecurity, stressing that their lives must not be taken for granted.
Speaking during a session with his congregation, Ayodele expressed deep concern that frontline troops are still facing deadly threats without adequate protection.
“Don’t take the life of our soldier for granted,” he said, insisting that proper equipment and operational support are essential to winning the war against insurgency.
He urged authorities to supply soldiers with all the tools required to confront terrorists effectively. According to him, the prolonged struggle against Boko Haram is partly due to neglect.
“Don’t let us sacrifice these soldiers. Give them all that is needed,” he emphasized.
Ayodele lamented that despite years of warnings about insurgent activities, the government has failed to act decisively.
“We have been talking about these people for a very long time. But government doesn’t listen,” he noted.
He added that with the right support, the military can deliver swift justice on the battlefield, summarizing his message with:
“One bullet, one Boko Haram.”
