Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on President Bola Tinubu to personally intervene in Nigeria’s worsening security situation, warning that failure to act decisively could invite foreign involvement and embarrassment for the country. Speaking during a prophetic session shared on Facebook, Ayodele emphasized the urgency of immediate and hands-on leadership in confronting violent attacks and kidnappings.
“Please, Tinubu, get involved,” the cleric urged, stressing that the commander-in-chief must move beyond reports and ensure decisive action is taken on the ground. He directed a strong message to security chiefs and ministers, insisting they be present in affected areas rather than supervising from afar. “Go to where the war is, where the trouble is. Use all the instruments you have within your power and fight this battle,” Ayodele said.
The cleric cautioned that hesitation or inaction could create an opening for external intervention, particularly from the United States, which he warned could damage Nigeria’s international image. “Don’t let America come and ridicule you,” he said, appealing for proactive measures to safeguard national sovereignty.
Ayodele’s message underscores the increasing public concern over insecurity and the call for immediate, decisive leadership to protect citizens and restore confidence in the nation’s safety.
