Police Rescue 15 Young Women from Sex Trafficking Ring, Arrest Suspects in Ondo

According to our report, the Ondo State Police Command has dismantled a sex trafficking syndicate exploiting young women under the guise of employment and social media opportunities. The Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team conducted a sting operation in Alagbaka, Akure, rescuing 15 women aged 20–26 and arresting three suspects, including the alleged ringleader, Jayeola Joshua.

Investigations revealed that victims were lured from across Nigeria with promises of lucrative jobs as models, ushers, and domestic workers, only to be coerced into sexual exploitation. The syndicate reportedly forced them to produce explicit content for paying clients, masking operations as social media projects.

The rescued women received medical care and counseling, while the police vowed to prosecute all involved and urged residents to report suspicious activities. The case has been handed to the Gender Desk Unit for further investigation, reinforcing Ondo’s zero-tolerance stance on human trafficking.
