Reactions After CAC Pastor Whose Members Were Abducted Reveals What God Told Him About The Case

A sombre atmosphere filled the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke Isegun in Eruku, Kwara State, on Sunday as members gathered for a special service inside their blood-stained auditorium, praying for the safe return of worshippers kidnapped during last Tuesday’s attack. The incident has continued to stir emotions across the community and online.

According to Punch Newspapers, church secretary Michael Agbabiaka clarified that 38 people were abducted—far lower than the widely circulated figure of 60. He explained that the initial list contained 35 church members, with three additional non-members later confirmed among the victims. Agbabiaka also revealed that the abductors first demanded ₦100 million per person, reduced it to ₦20 million, and then abruptly stopped communicating on Friday.
He added that three worshippers were killed, while another remains in the hospital receiving treatment.

Despite fear and grief, some members still attended Sunday service to pray and encourage one another. During the service, the presiding pastor, Bamidele Lawrence, told the congregation that God had given him a clear message regarding the abducted worshippers. He said God assured him that those taken would return safely, urging the church to remain steadfast in faith.

The pastor’s declaration generated mixed reactions online. While many appreciated his message of hope, others questioned the decision to reopen the church for worship so soon after the tragic incident.
