Richard Okecho, a private security guard attached to Garda World Security company, is currently in hot police pursuit after he allegedly opened fire on an Arsenal fan following a football match between Manchester United and Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The deceased, John, was reportedly at a restaurant when the incident occurred.
Police officers are currently investigating the circumstances under which the staunch Arsenal supporter met his untimely death in the early hours of Thursday night. Preliminary investigations indicate that the altercation began after the match, which saw Arsenal defeating their rivals two goals to nil.
Witnesses say the dispute escalated between the security guard and the victim, identified as John Ssenyonga. In a fit of rage, the guard reportedly pulled the trigger, killing John instantly and injuring another man, identified as Lawrence.
According to bystanders, the incident unfolded after Arsenal fans celebrated their team’s victory loudly. Despite being asked by the restaurant management to tone down the noise, the celebrations continued. Agitated by the commotion, the security guard resorted to violence, leading to the tragic shooting.
As of now, the suspect remains at large, and authorities have urged the public to report any sightings. The weapon used in the shooting has been recovered.
