Senator Ndume fumes as Boko Haram k!lls 4 farmers, raze church, abduct women, children and pastor’s daughters in Borno communities

Senator Ali Ndume, (APC, Borno South) has frowned at the k!lling of four farmers in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

 

The senator, who described the situation as worrisome, also confirmed that the EYN Church, shops and cars were razed by the terrorists in Pemi community, Chibok Local Government Area. 

 

He further confirmed the attack on Shikarkir community, Chibok on Wednesday, November 12, during which seven people, including a woman with her children, a pastor’s two daughters and the wife of Mr Smith Shikarkir with her baby. 

 

The senator said that, in the renewed attacks by the terrorists, the farmers were k!lled on their farms while harvesting crops in Kwam village near the Dille community. 

 

“I am very much perturbed over the renewed attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in some parts of my constituency in the last week,” he said. 

 

“These attacks led to the k!lling of four farmers while harvesting their crops in Kwam village, near Dille community of Askira- Uba local government area.

 

“Just last week, a Church and other infrastructures in Pemi were set ablaze, and yesterday (Wednesday), there were reports of Boko Haram invasion in the Shikarkir community of Chibok local government area in Borno state

 

“The situation is worrisome. This is because the inability of security agencies to man such remote communities in my constituency have led to the increase in attacks without confrontation.” 

 

Ndume commended Governor Babagana Zulum for his swift response in directing the State Emergency Agency (SEMA) and other stakeholders to provide relief materials to the affected communities. 

 

The senator called on the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Waidi Shaibu, to urgently deploy additional troops to safeguard lives and properties in the communities currently under attack.

 

“In addition, I commiserate with the people of the affected communities, especially the victims, while appealing for immediate military intervention to protect those under perpetual Boko Haram attacks in the state,” Ndume added.
