
A potentially deadly road crash on the Kpeve-Asikuma road ended without fatalities after a swift response by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) led to the rescue of all 12 passengers involved.

The incident, which occurred at Agbate on March 18, 2026, involved a rear-end collision between a Sprinter bus and a petrol tanker. The Sprinter, which was carrying 12 passengers, sustained extensive damage to its rear, raising fears of serious casualties.
However, firefighters from the Peki Fire Station, led by LFM Prosper Klo, arrived promptly at the scene and immediately began rescue operations.
Using extrication equipment, the team successfully freed passengers who had been trapped in the wreckage.
District Fire Officer ADOI Godwin Gbedemah provided technical support during the operation, ensuring the rescue was carried out efficiently.
