According to our reporter, Senator Abdul Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central and chairs the PDP Congress Committee, has admitted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made mistakes in the past but is now determined to correct them ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during the inauguration of ad hoc delegates from the 177 wards across the state, Ningi emphasized that the party is undergoing a deliberate repositioning process to rebuild trust and unity among its members.
“The party has made mistakes in the past. We have realized our mistakes and we are coming together once more,” Ningi said, assuring that the PDP is focused on restoring its strength and credibility in Ekiti.
He charged the newly inaugurated delegates — drawn from all 16 local governments — to ensure fairness, transparency, and proper conduct during the upcoming primaries scheduled for November 8, 2025.
According to him, the PDP’s renewed commitment to internal democracy and accountability will pave the way for victory in 2026. “Our mindset is simple — what is good for Ekiti is good for the PDP,” he added.
