Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized politicians who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join other parties, describing their actions as a “gluttonous search for power.”
Keyamo shared his remarks on his official X handle on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while commenting on the PDP’s performance in the recent Anambra State governorship election. According to him, the PDP candidate secured only 1,401 votes, a figure he said illustrates the party’s decline over the past decade.
“However, sadly, those who arm-twisted the PDP into such a sorry pass have all fled the Party to congregate in a new territory, in gluttonous search for power, preaching all kinds of crap to hoodwink Nigerians,” Keyamo wrote. He suggested that the party’s weakened position is the result of internal sabotage by these defectors.
The minister’s remarks highlight ongoing tensions within Nigeria’s political landscape, where defections and shifting alliances continue to influence party dynamics and election outcomes.
