Police Arrest Five Armed Robbery Suspects in Enugu
The Enugu State Police Command has apprehended five suspected armed robbers in operations conducted between October 20 and 29, 2025, across Amechi-Awkunanaw, New Garriki, and the Enugu–Abakaliki Road. The arrests led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and other exhibits.
Police spokesman Daniel Ndukwe confirmed that one suspect, Odoh Joel, was found with a cut-to-size gun during a stop-and-search. Other arrests resulted from anti-cultism and joint operations with Neighbourhood Watch. Commissioner Bitrus Giwa commended officers for their “successful tactical operations” and pledged continued security vigilance.
Patrick Vieira Resigns as Genoa Head Coach

Affected officers have been barred from operations and summoned to the agency’s Abuja headquarters. EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale warned that false claims intended to malign the commission would also attract sanctions.

Senator Ali Ndume has called on President Bola Tinubu to directly engage the U.S. Government after President Donald Trump designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern”.
