Pastor Tunde Bakare, Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, paid a private visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, as revealed by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga on X.
Speaking to journalists after the closed-door meeting, Bakare said the conversation centered on national development and Nigeria’s future. He noted, “My personal vision is to see a nation that works in my lifetime… I trust that God will help our nation.”
Bakare emphasized the need for national unity, collaboration between northern and southern leaders, and concrete actions to alleviate poverty. “We’ve danced around subjects too long,” he said. “It’s time for progress.”
The meeting comes weeks after Bakare drew criticism from the Senate over his Easter State-of-the-Nation broadcast, where he accused Tinubu of turning the National Assembly into the “48th member” of his cabinet.
Bakare previously contested the APC presidential ticket against Tinubu in 2022.
