Under Obi, Na Beg Anambra State Workers Dey Beg Make Dem No Lose Their Source of Livelihood-Olayinka

According to our reporter, Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has reignited an old controversy involving former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Olayinka recalled a 2013 incident when about 140 workers of the Anambra State Broadcasting Service were reportedly laid off during Obi’s tenure. He claimed the retrenched staff had pleaded desperately with the government not to terminate their appointments, describing the situation as heartbreaking.

According to reports at the time, the workers protested the decision and accused officials within the Ministry of Information of internal victimization. They also said promises of redeployment were never fulfilled.

Dragging Obi over the issue, Olayinka wrote, “Under their Mr ONE SHOE alias AGBOTIKUYO, na beg Anambra State workers dey beg make dem no lose their sources of livelihood. Same man is parading himself as a messiah now.”

Our reporter gathered that the resurfaced claims have sparked renewed debate about Obi’s record as governor, especially as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections. So far, the former governor has not publicly responded to the allegations.
