What I Told a Wealthy Man Who Came To Me Breathing Hard Wanting to Buy an Estate – David Oyedepo

bishop David Oyedepo, presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel), has shared a powerful message about the true meaning of abundance, highlighting that wealth alone does not guarantee fulfillment.

During a recent sermon, Bishop Oyedepo recounted an encounter with a wealthy man who arrived at his home visibly exhausted and gasping for breath, eager to purchase an estate. “Someone came to my house many years ago, and he was breathing like he was going to die,” he said. “He wanted to buy something, and I asked him, ‘How much money do you have on your own?’ He told me, and I said, ‘And you are breathing like this? You don’t die for nothing.’”

The bishop noted that even with millions at his disposal, the man’s relentless pursuit of more wealth had left him anxious and restless. He described this mindset as a spiritual and emotional affliction, likening it to “a plague worse than the coronavirus,” which robs individuals of peace and contentment.

Bishop Oyedepo stressed that true abundance includes health, inner peace, righteous children, joy, and acceptance among one’s peers. “All these are part of the abundance of all things,” he explained, urging believers to value non-material blessings alongside financial prosperity.
