Trump’s declaration followed Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s recent speech at the United Nations General Assembly, where his show of solidarity with Gaza sparked criticism from several U.S.-based Christian advocacy groups.
In his online statement, Trump expressed deep concern over the continuous bloodshed, alleging that extremist groups are behind most of the attacks. He revealed that “over 3,100 Christians were killed in Nigeria alone,” out of 4,476 recorded worldwide — a figure he described as “unacceptable.”
He called on the U.S. Congress to urgently investigate and take decisive action, insisting that America “cannot remain silent while innocent Christians are slaughtered.”
