A woman from Nyandarua County, identified as Mercy, has shared the painful experience of losing her husband unexpectedly, leaving her to care for their three children alone. Her story highlights the struggles faced by families dealing with sudden loss and the challenges of poverty in rural areas.
Mercy explained that she was employed as a house helper in Nairobi before marrying a man from Nyandarua County. After their wedding, they moved in together, but financial difficulties soon forced them to relocate to the village. Her husband, who had a pre-existing epilepsy condition, lost his job, and the family relied on manual labour to make ends meet.
Tragically, Mercy said her husband passed away suddenly one morning. Authorities later confirmed his death was related to his medical condition. Following his passing, she also faced hostility from her in-laws, who accused her of neglect. Despite these hardships, Mercy remains committed to raising her children and is appealing to people of goodwill for job opportunities to support her family.
