A woman has revealed why she called off her engagement.
The X user explained that they were making plans for the traditional marriage, which is supposed to take place in the bride’s family house, when the groom’s family suggested it takes place in their own state because they have dignitaries coming and it would be easier for the bride’s family to come to them than for them to make all the dignitaries travel to the bride’s state.
The woman wrote: “His mother said that their friends and dignitaries couldn’t travel from Lagos to Benin. So, she asked me to tell my father that they would pay ‘family money,’ so that my family and relatives could come to Lagos for the traditional wedding, the main wedding, and everything.
“Then I asked my ex, ‘Did you hear what your mother said?’ He replied, ‘Yes. You know, all these lawyers and judges don’t like traveling like that. We will arrange comfortable accommodations for your family, and my parents are planning to compensate your dad with ₦20 million.’
“That was the end! No one has ever insulted my family the way this woman did.”
