Nollywood veteran Saidi Balogun is overflowing with pride as he celebrates his son, Jamal Temini Balogun, on his induction into the Pharmacy School of Medicine, University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Taking to Instagram, the acclaimed actor penned an emotional tribute to his son, expressing how witnessing Jamal’s journey has been “one of his greatest joys.” He reflected on the sacrifices, long study hours, and difficult moments Jamal had endured—yet overcame with resilience and grace.
In his touching message, Saidi Balogun congratulated Jamal on officially stepping into the world of pharmacy, reinforcing his admiration with heartfelt prayers.
He wrote:
“Watching you walk this path has been one of my greatest joys. From long nights to tougher times, you faced it all with strength and grace. Congratulations to my Pharmacist from the School of Medicine, UNILAG! Pharm JAMAL TEMINI BALOGUN @jamalofficiall_
May Almighty Allah protect you and keep evil eyes away from you. You shall always excel. Insha Allah, this is the beginning of a glorious journey. Go and prosper. I am so proud of you.”
Jamal’s academic milestone comes months after his older brother, Khalid Balogun, emerged as a first-class graduate from the University of Lagos earlier this year. Their mother, celebrated actress Faithia Williams, expressed how overwhelmed and grateful she was for Khalid’s outstanding achievement.
Saidi Balogun also publicly rejoiced over Khalid’s success, noting that there is “no joy greater” than seeing his children excel. The actor, who tragically lost one of his daughters last year, acknowledged that these accomplishments have restored joy to his heart. He recently praised Khalid’s musical talent in another Instagram post, sharing a video of the young star performing.
Saidi Balogun and Faithia Williams share two children—Khalid and Aliyah—from their marriage, which began in 2000 at the Ikorodu registry and ended in 2014. Their separation was turbulent, with Saidi requesting in court that Faithia drop his surname, citing irreconcilable differences.
The proud father’s recent post reflects hope, healing, and gratitude as he watches his children continue to make remarkable strides academically and artistically.
