Bishop David Oyedepo, Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has sounded the alarm over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, following recent deadly attacks on churches. Speaking during the 4th Pre-Shiloh Encounter Service on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Oyedepo described the spate of assaults as deeply concerning and urged urgent spiritual intervention.
According to Vanguard, the cleric expressed outrage that worshippers continue to be killed and abducted in places traditionally considered safe. “You mean a church was invaded during worship, and people were killed and nothing happened?” Oyedepo asked, highlighting the need for both divine and human accountability.
Oyedepo called on members of his congregation to participate in a coordinated midnight prayer session aimed at addressing the escalating violence. He emphasized that spiritual preparedness is essential, directing congregants to wake an hour earlier to join in a focused “midnight prayer assault” against the growing wave of insecurity.
The bishop stressed that Nigeria is at a critical turning point and warned that spiritual complacency could exacerbate the situation. He encouraged believers to remain vigilant, united, and steadfast in prayer, insisting that committed spiritual engagement can help reverse the rising threat of violence.
