President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday made a surprising remark during his presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the 10th National Assembly in Abuja.
The Appropriation Bill is titled, “The Restoration Budget, securing peace, building prosperity.”
The President, while concluding the presentation, was cautioned by a lawmaker that he had addressed the joint session as the 11th Assembly.
Upon hearing this, Tinubu asked rhetorically, ’10? I wrote 11.’
There was an uproar among the sitting members before the president jokingly said, “Which means you’re all re-elected.”
Afterwards, the lawmakers stood and chanted a song solidifying their loyalty to the president, saying, “On your mandate we shall stand, Bola!”
Tinubu had discussed during the presentation that his administration is earmarking N4.91 trillion for defence and security for the 2025 fiscal year.
This is also as Infrastructure, Health and Education will get N4.06tn, N2.48tn and N3.5tn, respectively.
