23 Players now in Super Eagles Camp

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, is now waiting for just one player to complete the 24-man squad ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon on Thursday.

The only remaining player expected is goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Star forward, Victor Osimhen and midfielder Alhassan Yusuf have since arrived in the Super Eagles camp, joining the team on Tuesday afternoon.

Chelle’s men will face Gabon on Thursday evening in Rabat, Morocco.

Twenty-three Super Eagles players are currently in the Super Eagles camp, including Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Frederick, Chidozie Awaziem, Amas Obasogie, Stanley Nwabali, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Zaidu Sanusi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Victor Osimhen, and Alhassan Yusuf.

Okoye is now the final player expected to arrive, which will complete the 24-man squad invited for the two-legged playoff series.

A separate report indicates that the team’s planned training session was temporarily delayed due to a dispute over unpaid bonuses, though the issue is reportedly being resolved ahead of the crucial match.
