Aloy Ejimakor: If Tinubu Does Not Free Nnamdi Kanu, He Can Forget The Vote Of The Southeast

According to our report, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, has warned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may lose political support from the Southeast if Kanu’s continued detention is not addressed.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with SYMFONI TV, Ejimakor declared, “If Tinubu does not free Nnamdi Kanu, he can forget the vote of the Southeast.”

He noted that the legal battle has moved beyond the courtroom and now carries heavy political weight. “The judiciary has done its part — I’ve secured three victories for Kanu in different courts,” Ejimakor said, insisting that the final decision lies with the President.

According to him, Tinubu and the Attorney General of the Federation have the constitutional power to discontinue the case and bring lasting peace.

Ejimakor also clarified that recent peaceful protests calling for Kanu’s release were not against the judiciary but a direct appeal to the federal government. He described the Southeast’s long-standing marginalization as a major reason why Kanu’s freedom represents both justice and reconciliation.

He warned that ignoring this call could further strain relations between the region and the central government.
