Nigerian gospel musicians, including Yinka Alaseyori, Olabest, Alayo Melody, Lare Alewilese, and several others, have issued an emotional appeal for urgent financial assistance on behalf of their colleague, Bunmi Akinnaanu popularly known by fans as Omije Ojumi.

Their collective plea comes weeks after the beloved gospel singer visited G.F. David Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo State, in search of divine healing.

According to reports, Omije Ojumi is currently battling a troubling and yet-to-be-identified leg ailment that has not only affected her mobility but has also pushed her into severe financial distress. The situation has sparked widespread concern, especially after a recent video revealed her deteriorating condition.

In a heartfelt video posted on Instagram, fellow gospel singer Lanre Alewilese passionately called on Nigerians and musicians across all genres to come to her rescue. He emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating, “She really needs your support NOW!”

Alewilese went further to appeal for unity among artists, encouraging everyone—regardless of genre or religious affiliation—to join efforts in saving Omije Ojumi’s life. He said,

“God in your mercy please heal her. Please for God sake, I’m calling on both young and old, my brothers and sisters in the gospel industry including Juju and Fuji musicians, please let’s set religion aside. Please let us save the life of sister Bunmi Akinanu Omije Ojumi.”

He also revealed that he had privately reached out to several musicians, but the need to raise broader awareness became urgent after receiving troubling updates from colleague Alayo Melody.

“When my colleague, Alayo called me yesterday about her, I was shocked because I thought God has taken control of her healing but I didn’t know she’s being taken from one hospital to another,” he added.

Other entertainment figures, such as Yinka Alaseyori, Olabest, Alayo Melody, Akinade Olubukola, and actress Foluke Daramola, have also taken to social media to solicit prayers and financial aid. While the exact diagnosis remains unclear, the circulating video has intensified public worry about the singer’s health.
