Senator Smart Adeyemi has revealed that he turned down a $10 million bribe, stressing that his entry into politics was to serve his constituents, not to make money.
In an interview with Channels Television, Adeyemi explained that while many assume politicians seek wealth, not all are motivated by greed. “I have had cause to reject bribes on multiple occasions,” he said. “Someone even brought 10 million dollars to my house, and I told them, ‘Take this money away.’ I have records to prove it.”
