Social media was thrown into confusion after posts on Facebook and other platforms falsely claimed that legendary actor Jackie Chan had passed away.
The rumour spread after an AI-generated image of the 71-year-old actor lying in a hospital bed began circulating with fake “RIP” messages and fabricated dates, Daily Mail reported.
Fans rushed to Google to confirm, making search terms like “Did Jackie Chan die?” and “Jackie Chan death” trend worldwide.
However, reliable sources have confirmed that Jackie Chan is alive and well.
He has also been active this year, appearing in films and making public appearances.
Even AI chat system Grok responded to users saying the claim was a hoax and that the actor is fine.
This isn’t the first time death rumours have trailed him. A similar hoax also circulated earlier in August with another AI-edited image.
Jackie Chan currently has multiple film projects in production, including Karate Kid: Legends and a rumored Rush Hour 4.
