According to our report, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has strongly condemned a recent court ruling that halted the party’s planned national convention in Oyo State this November.
Speaking in a video shared by SYMFONI TV, Damagum described the judgment as unjust and discouraging, insisting that while the PDP respects the rule of law, it completely rejects the decision and will file an appeal.
He accused certain individuals of deliberately using the courts to weaken the PDP and destabilize Nigeria’s democracy. According to him, it is unfair for a few actors to hinder a major political party from carrying out legitimate internal activities.
Damagum also expressed disappointment that some party members were allegedly aiding external forces to divide the PDP, describing them as “saboteurs.” He, however, expressed confidence that their plans would fail.
In his words, “Just because one or two saboteurs are out to destroy this party does not mean they will succeed — God will not let them.”
