Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to remain united and support President Bola Tinubu’s administration in its quest to bring lasting peace and prosperity to the country.
Speaking after the Eid al-Adha prayers at the National Eid Ground along Airport Road in Abuja on Friday, Shettima emphasized the importance of national unity, shared sacrifice, and collective effort in overcoming Nigeria’s challenges.
He described Eid al-Adha as a period of deep reflection and selflessness, rooted in the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim and the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, and compassion.
“This season reminds us of the importance of reaching out to the less privileged and building bridges of brotherhood and sisterhood,” Shettima said. “Life is a marathon. While individuals may run faster, we risk wearing out alone. As a family, a collective, a nation—we can go farther together.”
The Vice President also urged citizens to rally behind President Tinubu, stressing that unity of purpose is essential to tackling insecurity, poverty, and other national issues.
“What binds us together is far greater than what divides us,” he said. “I thank Nigerians for their continued support and call on all of us to join forces in confronting our shared challenges.
