According to our report from CHANNELS TV, Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has responded to US President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC), stressing that Christians are not the only victims of violence in Nigeria.
Trump had claimed that Christianity faces an “existential threat”, alleging that thousands of Christians were being killed by radical Islamist groups.
Reacting, Ndume emphasized that Muslims are also being attacked, and described the ongoing violence as a threat to all Nigerians, regardless of faith. He urged the Nigerian government to engage the US and ensure that both official facts and perspectives from the Muslim community are considered.
In his words: “Muslims have been killed too. The genocide isn’t against Christians but Nigerians generally.”
