According to our recent report, a young man identified as Paul Odu, 24, from Lagos, has shared a painful story of how his mother, Temitope, tragically died just a day after being allegedly beaten by his father. The shocking event occurred shortly after she returned from Abuja, where she had completed her call-to-bar ceremony—marking what was supposed to be the start of a promising legal career.
Paul revealed in an interview with Punch that his father once fasted and prayed for three days, asking God to take his wife’s life. “Every morning, he prayed aloud that my mum should die,” Paul recounted, describing the years of torment his mother endured in silence. Despite the cruelty, she remained patient, warning him only that his actions were wicked.
Tragically, one night, the violence went too far. After a brutal assault, Temitope was found dead the next morning. “I went to my dad’s room, but he refused to open the door,” Paul said. “I ran out for help, and when my mother’s friend arrived, she confirmed my worst fear—my mum was gone.”
