Billionaire businessman and politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, has finally addressed the ongoing marital crisis involving his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. In a detailed statement shared on his verified social media page, the Delta North Senator accused Regina’s siblings and some close friends of undermining her recovery process and introducing her to substance abuse.
According to Nwoko, Regina’s brother, Sammy West, along with some of her friends, allegedly played a major role in frustrating attempts to help the actress overcome her addiction. He claimed they persistently ignored medical advice and continued to visit her at home without permission while she was undergoing rehabilitation.
“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff, especially whenever I was not around,” Nwoko wrote. “This is someone I sponsored through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma. I bought his musical instruments, rented and furnished a flat for him in Abuja, and even transferred ₦125 million to their mother, Rita Daniels, in the last two years.”
The senator alleged that Regina’s doctors had specifically instructed that some individuals be restricted from seeing her during therapy, but her siblings and friends ignored the directive. “Instead of helping her recover, they encouraged her addiction and completely frustrated the efforts of doctors and therapists. Lawrence, Sammy, Destiny, and others also took the same drugs as Regina and even supplied them to her,” he alleged.
Nwoko went on to narrate several troubling incidents that, according to him, highlighted Regina’s growing defiance and unhealthy lifestyle choices. “On one occasion, she left the house and didn’t return until 9 a.m., saying she was at a nightclub. When I asked why, she said, ‘You are not my father, so don’t ask me where I was,’” he recounted.
He also accused Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, of enabling her daughter’s behavior under the guise of maintaining a celebrity image. “Her mother would often justify her substance use as part of a ‘celebrity lifestyle,’” Nwoko said, lamenting that her siblings’ influence had turned the home into “a toxic and tense environment.”
“Imagine the pain of a husband trying to help his wife recover, only to have the process sabotaged by her siblings and friends. Each time progress was made, they would undo it by smuggling in the same drugs she was fighting to give up,” he added.
Addressing viral reports that he allegedly sent thugs to assault Regina, Nwoko denied the allegations, insisting that the circulating video was misrepresented. “Nobody was beaten. It’s false to say that I sent thugs to beat Regina in another house. The video that went viral was filmed entirely in front of my property by Regina’s sister and her friend. It was a pure Nollywood scenario,” he clarified.
The senator further revealed that he had funded Regina’s brother Lawrence’s studies in London with $75,000 but noted that Sammy refused a similar opportunity. “Sammy has since been arrested several times by both the police and EFCC. What he needs now is total rehabilitation and professional guidance,” Nwoko concluded.
With this statement, Ned Nwoko publicly presented his side of the controversy, shedding light on what he described as internal family struggles and efforts to save his wife from destructive influences.
