According to our report, tension and shock filled Katsina State as armed bandits publicly accused the Nigerian government of turning them into terrorists during a new peace negotiation in Charanchi and Batagarawa.
During the meeting, one of the leaders openly declared that their violent actions were influenced by government failures and political interests. He revealed that the same authorities who allegedly pushed them into banditry have now called for peace — a call they agreed to honor “by God’s grace.”
The spokesman added that Nigeria’s leaders hold the real power to end insecurity, saying, “If they want peace, we’ll make it happen; if they want war, it will continue.”
This revelation echoes recent remarks by Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, who insists most bandits are driven by revenge and injustice, urging the Tinubu government to seek dialogue instead of more bloodshed.
