Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of English winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea, in a deal worth over £50 million including add-ons.
Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move with his signature “Here we go!”, signaling that all parties have reached a full agreement.
Madueke has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with the Gunners. Chelsea have given the green light for the transfer, and the player is expected to complete his medical and finalize the move in the coming days.
The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 but has found consistent game time hard to come by. Despite flashes of brilliance, including 7 Premier League goals last season, Madueke struggled to cement a regular starting spot under multiple managers.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sees Madueke as a valuable addition to his attacking options, particularly as a backup and potential long-term challenger for Bukayo Saka on the right wing. His versatility also allows him to operate on the left flank, giving Arteta more tactical flexibility.
Chelsea’s decision to part ways with Madueke is seen as part of their ongoing squad reshaping under Enzo Maresca, with the club also looking to comply with financial fair play regulations through strategic sales.
While the move has sparked mixed reactions among fans—particularly from Chelsea supporters worried the club might regret letting a young talent go—Arsenal fans are optimistic about the player’s potential and how he fits into the club’s long-term plans.
Madueke’s transfer is expected to be officially announced once final medical and administrative steps are completed.
