Taraba APC Warns Members Against Accepting PDP Appointments

The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong warning to its members, urging them not to accept any political appointments from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

In a statement released on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, and signed by the APC State Chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, the party stressed that any member who violates this directive risks being deregistered from the APC.

According to the statement, all 16 local government chairmen of the party have been directed to compile names of members who have accepted appointments from the PDP-led administration under Governor Agbu Kefas. Those identified will be barred from participating in the upcoming electronic membership registration.

“No member of the party is permitted to accept appointments from the incumbent state government without approval from the APC National Working Committee (NWC),” the statement read.

Citing Article 9.5 of the APC Constitution (Amended 2022), the party noted that any member who accepts a political appointment from another political party in government, without clearance from the NWC, will automatically forfeit their membership.

“To that effect, all 168 ward chairmen across the state have been directed to immediately remove the names of affected individuals from the party register,” El-Sudi added.

The statement reaffirmed the APC’s loyalty to dedicated and disciplined members, promising that their steadfastness would not go unrecognized.

“We appreciate all principled and law-abiding members for their patience and commitment to the party,” the notice concluded.

This development comes after reports surfaced that several APC members were included in the list of new aides appointed by Governor Agbu Kefas — a move that has drawn criticism from the opposition party leadership.
