“The First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, Was Even More Generous To Them Than Father Christmas” – MURIC

According to our report, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has sharply criticized the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), accusing the body of betraying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite his generous inclusion of Christians in federal appointments.

The reaction comes after former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly returned Nigeria to the “Countries of Particular Concern” (CPC) list over alleged genocide against Christians. MURIC claims this decision was fueled by misleading petitions and exaggerated narratives from certain Christian leaders.

Professor Ishaq Akintola, MURIC’s founder, said: “Instead of refuting false claims that only Christians are victims, CAN amplified them, undermining the country’s reputation internationally.”

The group slammed the petitions as disloyal and unpatriotic, noting that the President and the First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, have shown exceptional kindness to Christians. “The First Lady was even more generous than Father Christmas,” Akintola added, expressing shock at what he called “the Mother of all Betrayals.”

According to our report, MURIC emphasizes that Nigeria’s insecurity affects both Christians and Muslims, and the narrative suggesting otherwise misrepresents the true situation in the country.

The group concluded by denouncing those behind the petitions, urging all religious leaders to act responsibly and patriotically.
