Head of Communications at the British High Commission-Ghana, Ryan Wilson, believes Thomas Tuchel’s time as manager of England’s National Men’s Football Team has been marked by players getting called to the national team based on form rather than reputation.
He said this in an exclusive interview in the wake of the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup that had England get drawn in Group L with Ghana, Croatia and Panama.
Speaking about the draw, Ryan Wilson said that the groupings for next year’s World Cup worked out pretty well before zeroing in on the England squad particularly on manager Thomas Tuchel by stating.
“He’s-Tuchel- done a really good job from what I can see of trying different people in different positions to really figure out who he favours.”

“He seems to be a person that rewards form rather than reputation and we’ve seen that.”

“I think we’ve seen that with Morgan Rogers being selected ahead of Jude Bellingham really shows that so he has a few more months to play around with that…I’m sure that by the time he-Tuchel- gets to the World Cup, we will be as prepared as we can be” Ryan Wilson said.
