We’re At A Burial, The Fulani Came And They Put Sword Through A Pregnant Woman’s Stomach-Rev Ezekiel

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau State, has shared a painful recollection of a violent attack that occurred during a burial ceremony in the state. The clergyman expressed deep concern over the recurring violence that continues to claim innocent lives and devastate communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region.

In a recent interview with News Central, Rev. Dachomo described how the tragic incident unfolded. According to him, the mourners had gathered to bury about 40 victims who had earlier been killed in a separate attack. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a solemn farewell turned into another horrific event when armed assailants reportedly ambushed the group on their way down from the burial site.

He recounted the chaos and fear that erupted as people tried to flee for safety. Among those caught in the violence was a pregnant woman who, according to Rev. Dachomo, could not escape and was fatally attacked. The clergyman said the memory of that day remains etched in his mind, describing it as one of the darkest moments he has ever witnessed.

Rev. Dachomo’s account sheds light on the persistent insecurity affecting several communities in Plateau and other parts of northern Nigeria. He called for urgent and sincere efforts from both government and security agencies to protect vulnerable residents and ensure lasting peace in the region.
