“When I Married You at 17, Was I On Drugs? You Tried to Destroy Me” – Regina Daniels Accuses Ned Nwoko of Lies, Control, and Abuse

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has launched a blistering counterattack against her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, accusing the billionaire politician of lies, manipulation, and emotional abuse and revealing that she was only 17 years old when they married.

The 25-year-old movie star took to Instagram to post a lengthy and emotional statement following Ned Nwoko’s earlier allegations that she was battling drug addiction and that her family and close associates, including actress Uche Montana, were her suppliers.

Daniels dismissed those claims as deliberate attempts to “destroy” her image, isolate her from her family, and distract the public from what she described as the senator’s controlling behavior.

“I have a lot more to say but let me just stop here for now,” she wrote. “I can only thank God that I found strength in that same house you tried to destroy me. I just feel so ashamed that all this had to come out in the messiest way.”

In one of her most damning lines, Daniels wrote:

“When I married you at 17, was I on drugs? I thank God for time.”

The actress accused Nwoko of lying “without remorse” and of attempting to tarnish her family’s reputation to justify his alleged controlling tendencies.

“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse?” she said. “You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this. You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason.”

Daniels acknowledged that she had used drugs in the past but insisted that her family was not involved and that Nwoko’s focus on her substance use was an act of public manipulation.

“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she wrote. “The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media, something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue.”

She alleged that Nwoko’s “real issue” was his need for control and that he had systematically tried to isolate her from her friends and family.

“You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me, no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to,” she said. “That has always been your strategy: break people down, make them weak and powerless, and then have your way with them.”

Daniels accused the politician of emotional and physical abuse, claiming he locked her up, seized her phones, and coerced her into medical treatments against her will.

“You say you want me to go for rehab, but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high,” she wrote. “Why don’t you also tell them how you force yourself on me whenever I say no? Or how you lock me up, seize my phones, and declare me ‘mentally unstable’ the moment I say I no longer want to be in this relationship?”

She further alleged that Nwoko instructed doctors to inject her with medication meant for people with bipolar disorder, claiming the treatments were used to subdue her when she resisted his control.

Daniels also made a bombshell revelation about the legality of their marriage, claiming there were no official documents binding them.

“For the record, I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us,” she wrote. “We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force. Stop trying to control what no longer belongs to you.”

She concluded her message with a pointed reflection on power, control, and self-worth:

“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you, my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed while being with you.”

Nwoko, 63, has yet to respond publicly to the latest allegations.

The feud which has spilled across social media over the past week has ignited widespread debate in Nigeria, with many calling for authorities to investigate Ned Nwoko for pedophilia because Regina was a minor when the marriage began.

The controversy marks one of the most explosive celebrity scandals to hit Nigeria’s entertainment industry this year, blurring the line between Nollywood drama and real-life political intrigue.

This remains a developing story.
