In a dramatic turn of events, former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has come out publicly to admit what many have suspected — he regrets supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Monday, June 23, El-Rufai revealed that he played a crucial role in Tinubu’s rise to power but now feels he has done more harm than good.
“I just feel like I contributed to this country’s problems by bringing the evil Tinubu into power,” El-Rufai confessed. “I should do the last lap by removing Tinubu.”
El-Rufai, once a fierce defender of the APC, now says the party has lost touch with the people. He stated that over 90% of Nigerians have lost confidence in both the ruling APC and Tinubu’s leadership.
Millions of Nigerians are now quietly turning to this new political alternative that El-Rufai and other insiders are forming. If you’re tired of recycled promises and want to see what’s really going on beneath the surface, take a closer look here. You’ll understand why many believe 2027 won’t be business as usual.
A New Political Force is Rising
El-Rufai is now one of the leading voices in a coalition called the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) — a new political movement aimed at uniting Nigerians across party lines.
According to him, the coalition isn’t just a reaction to APC failure; it’s a serious effort to “rescue Nigeria” from what he calls urban bandits and failed leadership. He confirmed that people from Atiku Abubakar’s camp, Peter Obi’s supporters, and even former Buhari ministers are all working together behind the scenes.
“We are like-minded people,” El-Rufai said. “We are not doing this for power or ego. We want to fix the country.”
He also compared the current political situation to the downfall of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, warning that history might repeat itself.
Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election in Doubt
In an earlier statement, El-Rufai made it clear that he believes Tinubu has no real path to winning re-election in 2027.
“Anyone who thinks Tinubu will return in 2027 is not in touch with reality,” he declared bluntly.
The former governor’s bold remarks have stirred a wave of reactions, as many Nigerians begin to seriously consider alternatives to the APC-led government.
