Plateau State government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew in Jos North Local Government Area following improvements in the security situation.
The update was confirmed by Joyce Ramnap in a statement issued in Jos. She said the decision was reached after consultations with security agencies and a review of recent developments. Under the new directive, the curfew will now run daily from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., effective from April 15, 2026.
“The Plateau State Government, in consultation with security agencies, wishes to further relax the curfew imposed in the wake of recent disturbances. Consequently, curfew hours will be between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.,” the statement said.
The government commended residents for their cooperation, noting that their compliance had contributed to the improved security conditions. It also urged citizens to maintain peace and remain vigilant by reporting any suspicious activities to security agencies.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to protecting lives and property, adding that efforts would continue to ensure a full return to normalcy across Jos North and other parts of the state.
