A pastor in Florida has been arrested over allegations of bigamy, sparking reactions online due to the irony surrounding his teachings.
According to Yahoo, The cleric, identified as Leslie Williams, was reportedly picked up on April 22 on an outstanding warrant from Georgia. He is currently being held without bond, awaiting extradition.
What has drawn even more attention to the case is a book he authored titled *Love Her Like This*, which focuses on strengthening marriages using biblical principles.
Authorities allege that Williams was still legally married to one woman when he entered another marriage in December last year. Reports say he openly shared posts celebrating his new wife, raising eyebrows among followers who questioned his marital status at the time.
He was eventually arrested after officers tracked him down near his residence, following an earlier attempt to serve the warrant.
Under Georgia law, bigamy is a criminal offence that can carry up to 10 years in prison if proven.
The case has since generated widespread reactions, with many pointing to the contradiction between his teachings on marriage and the allegations against him.
