Enugu police PRO reacts to viral video of lady crying out over her missing brother

The Enugu State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the disappearance of a young security guard who has been missing for three weeks, following a viral video appeal by his sister.

The victim reportedly left his home on April 7, 2026, to report for duty at a security agency in Enugu where he was employed. According to his sister, who traveled from Abuja to search for him, he has not been seen or heard from since that day.

“My brother worked for a company in Enugu State as a security guy, and since the 7th of this month, he has been missing and the company is saying nothing about it. I travelled all the way from Abuja to Enugu to know what the problem is and the only thing I could lay my hands is that the company has reported to the police.

She said officials of the company informed her that they reported the matter to the police two days later, on April 9. She explained that the police requested a photograph of the missing man, which she promptly provided to the company for onward transmissionto the police.

However, when she visited the police station in person to formally report the case, officers allegedly told her that the company had not returned with the requested picture and had not been actively following up on the matter.

“The police man told them to provide the picture of the person they are looking for, which, when they asked me to provide, I sent the picture to them. On getting there on Saturday, they told me that the people did not return with the picture and nobody from the company has come for the case anymore,” she said.

She added that when the police eventually made an arrest, his statement was “totally different” from what she was initially told.

Fearing the case would not be taken seriously, she cried for assistance from Nigerians as she sought the whereabouts of her brother.

“My brother has been missing for three weeks now, and nobody is giving me answers about anything. You people should help me, I’m tired,” she said

Reacting to her video on X, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Daniel Ndukwe wrote

“This truly requires thorough investigative action. Kindly avail me with the contact of the video maker so that I’ll know from her the Station where the report was made for further necessary action, pls.”
