Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has intensified his criticism of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the opposition coalition as deeply divided and lacking the capacity to function as a credible political force.
In a statement posted on his X account on April 10, 2026, Bwala reiterated an earlier prediction that the party would descend into deeper confusion. According to him, recent developments within the ADC validate his claim that the coalition is becoming increasingly fragmented and unstable.
Bwala argued that internal ambition among party members is a major obstacle to unity, stating that a platform where multiple individuals are focused on pursuing presidential ambitions cannot build a strong opposition. He also criticized what he described as a “hostile takeover” culture within the party, suggesting that such a foundation is unsustainable and prone to collapse.
The presidential aide further accused members of the coalition of inconsistency and double standards, claiming this undermines their credibility and ability to gain public trust. He also questioned the ideological direction of the party, alleging that frequent party defections among its key figures reflect a lack of clear principles and long-term vision.
According to Bwala, the leadership of the ADC views political engagement as a means to an end rather than a commitment to governance, adding that desperation within the ranks has created disorganization and internal conflict. He maintained that these factors make it difficult for the coalition to present itself as a viable alternative to the ruling government.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to reject the ADC, insisting that the party’s internal contradictions and leadership struggles make it unfit to govern.
