In a recent video on Facebook, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has criticized the actions of Israel in ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, questioning the widely held description of the country as a “holy land.”
Speaking during a recent address, Ayodele argued that the conduct of Israel in its military engagements does not reflect the values associated with a nation regarded as spiritually significant. According to the cleric, the situation in the region continues to generate humanitarian concerns and global debate.
Ayodele also suggested that powerful nations, particularly the United States, often respond strongly when other countries engage in similar actions. He stated that if other nations were responsible for such conduct, they would likely face swift consequences from global powers.
“If any country is doing this, America will come after them. Let’s be honest,” he said.
The cleric went further to question the moral standing of Israel in the context of the ongoing crisis, saying the country’s actions contradict the perception of it being a sacred place.
“Israel are not behaving like a holy nation. I don’t think anything that is holy in Israel. For me, they only say Israel is the holy land,” Ayodele stated.
He added that violence and loss of innocent lives in conflict situations undermine the spiritual significance often attributed to the country.
“That is why it is not a holy land. It’s a dirty land. It’s not where you kill and kill and kill. You kill to the extent of small children and you don’t have mercy for anybody,” he said.
Ayodele also compared the situation to some African nations, suggesting that several countries on the continent demonstrate stronger humanitarian values.
“Some African countries are even better than Israel,” he added.
