As reported by Premium Times on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Mohammed Sadis Buba, a candidate for the House of Representatives from the All Progressives Congress, has addressed concerns regarding his age after a video of him at the party’s screening process gained widespread attention on social media.
Buba, who is aiming for the Sabon Gari/Zaria Federal Constituency position in Kaduna State, became a hot topic online as footage of him presenting himself to the APC screening committee circulated.
Numerous users of social media reacted to his youthful looks, with some expressing doubts about whether he meets the age requirement to run for a seat in the House of Representatives.
In response to these comments, Buba firmly stated that he is of legal age, confirming that he is 30 years old. “I’m not underage, I’m 30,” he declared.
The screening session, part of the lead-up to the 2027 general elections, involved candidates from various districts meeting with party representatives for evaluation.
In the widely shared video, Buba was seen dressed in traditional clothing while discussing his goals and political vision with the screening committee.
During the meeting, he clarified that his choice to run for office stemmed from a commitment to the people of his constituency, rather than personal aspirations.
“It is not about me; it is my people who called me to serve,” he asserted during the session.
Buba also shared that Uba Sani is informed about his candidacy for the federal legislative position.
He mentioned that he is directly contesting against a current member of the House of Representatives for the APC nomination in the constituency.
“My people called me to serve and I am ready,” he emphasized.
“We are the only two vying for the APC nomination, and my rival is a sitting member.”
The APC screening event continues to gain significant attention across the country, with candidates from different regions participating in evaluations ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2027 elections.
