All Her Clothes Were Torn, Her Throat Was Slit – Man Narrates How His Wife Was Killed

Speaking in an interview with Punch News on Sunday, a 34-year-old farmer, Peter Ajine, recounted how his 24-year-old wife was brutally murdered by hoodlums in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Ajine disclosed that on the fateful day, he had returned home from the bank, where he had gone to sort out an issue, but couldn’t locate his wife, Gloria Ajine. After searching for a while, he decided to inform people in his community and seek their help in finding her.

Eventually, Ajine stated that his wife’s lifeless body was found on the farm where she had told him she would be working earlier that day. He added that before her body was discovered, an unknown person had answered her phone when they tried calling her number. However, the person remained silent, leaving them clueless about their identity.

Describing the state in which he found his wife’s body, Ajine said:

“She was killed in a very brutal manner. All her clothes were torn, her throat was slit, and there were several machete cuts all over her body.”

He further stated that the police had been informed, but the investigation into her death had been delayed. According to him, the authorities cited a lack of funds for fuel as the reason for the delay.

“They (the police) mentioned that we needed to raise money for them to get fuel for their operations. So, money seems to be the cause of the delay,” he said.
