Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has submitted his nomination form under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku disclosed this on his X page, where he shared photos and a video of himself at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja, submitting the form.
Atiku described the move as an important step in his mission to restore hope, prosperity, and better living conditions for Nigerians.
“The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today at the National Secretariat of our great party, the African Democratic Congress,” he wrote.
“This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal, and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair.”
The former presidential candidate also called on Nigerians from all regions, religions, and backgrounds to support his ambition.
“Together, we will restore the promise of our nation and bring good times back again,” he added.
Atiku has made several attempts to become Nigeria’s president over the years.
Although he has sought the presidency six times, he has appeared on the final ballot in three presidential elections including 2007, 2019, and 2023.
