Larai Abba, an internally displaced person (IDP) in Katsina State, has shared the harrowing experience of a bandit attack on her family.
In a video shared by TVC, Larai revealed that the bandits invaded her home at night. During the attack, they entered her room over seven times. In a desperate attempt to protect her family, she stripped her mother of her clothing to dissuade the bandits. She further explained that the attackers later entered her mother-in-law’s room and attempted to assault her. Fortunately, her mother-in-law was able to drive them away before they could harm her.
Speaking further, Larai disclosed that the bandits looted a significant amount of the family’s belongings, leaving them with very little to survive on.
In her words:
“They (bandits) entered our room over seven times, so I stripped off my mother to dissuade them. Later, they went to my mother-in-law’s room and attempted to forcibly sleep with her. She was lucky to drive them away. They also carted away a lot of our belongings.”
